What a tough tournament to start the year! High falling muddy water and low 50's water temps got the best of most of the anglers. About 16# won the tournament and most of the best stringers came from backwaters with clear water and mid 50's water temps. Fish were caught on swim baits and senko type baits around grass and just in front of grass. 53 of the 130 boaters zeroed. Tough, tough, tough.
What a tough weekend of prefishing at Ross Barnett. Had trouble with wiring on my Hds so no graph for two days. Water is high cold and muddy up the river. Best water I found was 51 degrees and shallow up the river. Didn't catch a fish! Pelahatchie looks better but still cold and muddy few places that look good and got a few bites but still but still not happy. One more day to fish Friday then tournament Saturday. Hope I figure it out!
I am not a pro fisherman just Joe Average out here trying to enjoy the outdoors. I love to bass fish and love the competition of tournament fishing as well. Hope you find something within my sight that is entertaining or informative..
