Greers Ferry Lake - This North Central Arkansas impoundment has a diverse amount of structure and cover types. Located about 40 minutes north of Little Rock it is a favorite weekend spot for Arkansas and Memphis area residents. Fed by the Little Red river and other streams it has very clear water and in areas and provides a great array of water sports. Gorgeous rock structures and cliffs abound on the lake as well as shallow flats in areas with deep water close by. Large bluff walls that plunge from 20-100' deep are all over the lake as well as some waterfalls and islands. Sugarloaf Mountain in the north section of the lake is a favorite hiking spot with some gorgeous views of the lake as well. I typically stay in the Fairfield Bay area of the lake and dock my boat at Fairfield Marina. The management and staff there are friendly and very helpful with any needs and run a Grade A boat dock. Here is a direct link to the Fairfield Bay community site and the marina

The bass fishing is very good with Largemouth, Spots, and Smallmouth all available to be caught. There is a north and south section of the lake connected by a large canal. The gamefish that the lake is best known for are the Walleye and Hybrid bass that abound all over the lake as well. Bass can be caught in whatever way you are comfortable fishing and can be found on many kinds of structures throughout the lake. There are shallow flats with buckbrush and laydowns as well as deep water ledges and points that hold fish year round. There are also boat docks all over the lake as well in shallow and deeper water areas.
Below is a album with some pics of the Fairfield Bay area and of the lake to give you a good idea of wonderful scenery on the lake. It will also show you what kind of structures and water you can expect to fish here.

Below is a gallery of pictures and videos of Greers Ferry lake. It is one of the most scenic lakes in the Memphis area in my opionion. The fishing can be tough at times but I love to visit the lakes for the views, waterfalls, mountains and bluffs in the lake. If you get an opportunity to go you should spend a little time of this beauty.
